WHAT HAPPENS DURING A COACHING SESSION?

Coaching sessions often run between 40 and 50 minutes. Following an initial assessment, sessions are commonly conducted in-person or virtually, typically over the phone, via email, video chat, and sporadically over instant messaging.

Throughout the session, I’ll ask you a number of topics, such as what you hope to achieve in life, what areas of it you’re unhappy with, and where you will see yourself headed. It’s often up to you to challenge or think critically about specific beliefs you possess in order to advance your life, even though I’ll work with you on that. All of your sessions will be confidential so you can examine your emotions and ideas in a safe setting without feeling compelled to commit to anything you wouldn’t want to.

I will gently nudge you to think about how to make changes to your life that are consistent with your goals because coaching is typically seen as a collaborative partnership. In addition to giving you advice and support to keep your attention on your objectives, and as your coach I will provide you tasks and objectives to do outside of scheduled appointments.

WHAT I AVOID DOING:

I don’t endorse or write prescriptions for any drugs. I don’t oversee, investigate, or assess their patients’ mental health.

I never leave their area of expertise since coaches are not allowed to contact with clients who might be at risk of hurting themselves or others.
Coaching is frequently viewed as a collaboration between the client and the coach, who will carefully nudge the client to consider how to make life-changing decisions based on the client’s goals. Additionally, a coach should provide encouragement and criticism to keep you on track with your objectives. They may also periodically assign you homework assignments and other outside-of-session duties.

WHAT I DO NOT DO:

I don’t recommend or prescribe any medications.

I don’t manage, examine, or evaluate the mental health of their patients.

Coaches do not work with clients who are at risk of killing themselves or others, therefore I never step outside of their area of expertise.

Coaches do not communicate and collaborate who would be at risk of killing themselves or others, therefore I never step outside of their area of expertise.
